Wide flange gantry cranes are available with double flange wheels for high service applications (CMAA Class E, mill service). This allows for speeds on rail-mounted cranes up to a maximum of 150 fpm.

Lower end truck on wide flanged gantries uses large diameter tread wheels. Front plate removes easily for servicing of wheels, axles and bearings.

If moderate service is required (CMAA Class C), polyurethane wheels can be used. The maximum speed on this application is 80 fpm. The polyurethane wheels on a SPANCO wide flange gantry crane provide maximum traction for direct floor operation without altering the floor.

Customization
Wide flange gantry cranes are only available by custom design. The general design of wide flange beam construction on a gantry crane equips the end trucks with identical wheels and power drives ensuring smooth start-up and precise alignment for even wear on wheels, and stable movement.

Multi-speed AC inverter drives, motor brakes, and air drives are all option for a SPANCO wide flange gantry crane. Other options include push button stations, warning lights, buzzers, floodlights, and travel limit switches. Top or under running end trucks can be added for single leg semi gantry applications. Wide flange gantry cranes can be designed for sever environments or hazardous areas with special paint finishes available.

The wide flange gantry end truck design allows us to customize power and speed to meet your application. Rotating axle design on gantries allows easy service of drive units.

Guide rollers and anti-kickup rollers on wide flange gantry cranes securely align upper end truck against both sides of track flange.
