Monorails and conveyors are ideal for lifting & moving products along a fixed path, servicing individual
machines or banks of machines, or carrying product to designated work centers. For those hard to reach
areas where a bridge crane cannot go, a monorail system gives easy access. The inherently low headroom
is also a distinct advantage where ceiling height is a problem.
Features
Suspension of conveyors and monorail tracks is usually from existing structures. Monorails can be easily
adapted to hang from building steel, steel or wooden roof joists, suitable concrete ceilings, or they can
be furnished with standard or custom support steel kits. SPANCO Monorails and overhead conveyors can be
linked to workstation cranes using interlocking transfer sections. This enables the operator to cover a
large work center area yet still access points or machines outside of the crane coverage.
A hoist is usually utilized on a monorail for lifting and lowering loads, however vacuum lifters, and
balancers may be applied. Conveyors on the other hand usually use multiple carriers of varying design &
configuration to support a multitude of items for painting, cleaning, assembly, etc.
Customization
Monorails and overhead conveyors by SPANCO are custom designed to fit any building. Stand alone support
systems for monorails can also be furnished. Standard monorail curved sections and track devices such
as switches, turntables, interlocks, and entry/exit sections can be furnished for optimum flexibility in
a conveyor, monorail, or combination bridge crane monorail system.
