The 2015 Company Barbecue

Employees from Spanco, Lug-All, and Rigid Lifelines have been coming together to enjoy food and fun at our annual company barbecue for twelve years now! This year was no exception. While the Pennsylvania facility spent the day outdoors with Morgantown’s own Stampede Smokin’ BBQ, the Nevada facility enjoyed their time together at the world renowned Famous Dave’s in Las Vegas.

Although the food was the highlight of the day, there were also several fun activities and entertainment for the nearly 150 employees and family members who attended. Three Phantom Entertainment Services provided hours of entertainment with their inflatable moon bounce, surf machine, and multiple boardwalk games. Attendees could play games to win prizes or to compete with co-workers at QB Blitz, Hi-Striker, Skeeball, or Mini Hoops. The wave machine was a favorite for kids and adults alike, but staying on the surf board was no easy feat!

For employees with a competitive streak, we also hosted our third annual pie- eating contest. The contest included six company employees dueling to the death to “party like a pie-rate”. This year’s winner took home the coveted title of Pie Eating Champion, along with a 100-dollar cash prize. It was a close competition, but the 2015 Pie Eating championship title went to Leo Vasquez.

While Morgantown employees were throwing down at the pie eating contest, Las Vegas employees were gathering around the picnic table for a BBQ extravaganza at Famous Daves!

The Las Vegas team decided to enjoy a family-style company barbecue, where everyone could gather around the table and talk about friends, family, work, and fun. Nineteen Spanco employees from the Vegas facility participated in the outing after a half-day of work, and enjoyed awesome food, drinks, and conversation. Additionally, each Spanco employee who participated in the lunch outing received a $50 gift card and the rest of the afternoon off!

Friday’s company BBQ was a hit for both facilities, with the goal of bringing both teams together to spend time relaxing and truly enjoying one another’s company. Whether you were hitting up the boardwalk games and ice cream truck or you were throwing back wings and beer with an extra 50 dollars in your pocket, the very same goal was accomplished: bringing people together to celebrate what we do—individually and as a team—and saying thank you to all of our employees for their handwork and dedication to Spanco, Rigid Lifelines, and Lug-All.
